A round dark brown fabric balmoral from WWII, belonging to Pte. Harold C. McKay, with a silver badge of the 48th Highlanders on the right side on top of a square patch of regimental Davidson tartan, the badge is the variation with 5 diamonds on the bottom as used by the regiment overseas in WWII, and a red touri on top. The badge is attached using a long metal pin to a light brown wooden board on the inside of the hat, and written on the wood board facing inside with ink is: “PTE McKAY H.C. C115500 PTS COPD”.
