Letter to Home by Pte. Harold C. McKay – Oct. 4, 1944

Hand written letter on paper using pen, paper is folded in four and front is labeled as an “AIR LETTER”, the letter is addressed to “Mrs Dan McKay Kincardine Ont Canada”, the top left also states “BY AIR MAIL”. A summary of the letter is: dated Oct 4, to mother and dad, opens with mention about them likely receiving the previous letter written on Sept 30th at same time as this letter, talking about the weather, about his mother having a cellar with lots of wood and vegetables stores to survive the winter, asks about how “all the girls” are doing and others, about his dad having his shoes if they fit, about daily routine and food in the hospital, about enjoying his time with all things taken care of for him and just spending most of his time in bed reading or sleeping, asks mom to get “them girls” to dig up and send some new dirt with their next letter.
