Small photograph belonging to CSM F.H. North, of altar table of St. Andrews Church, which was a gift to the church by the 48th Highlanders’ sergeants. Printed white text near the top of the photo reading: “48 HIGHLANDERS MEMORIAL TABLET TO BE DEDICATED  NOVEMBER 11TH 1934   ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH”. Photograph is of the altar table in the centre and on a wood board, while the rest of the background space is black. There are two eye bolts on the back of the frame on the left and right side with a string running lengthwise and tied to each socket.

The altar, designed by John Pearson, the architect who had designed the parliament buildings in Ottawa after the original buildings were destroyed in a fire, holds the 48th Highlanders Book of Remembrance, listing and honouring those Highlanders who died in service.
