General MacNaughton shakes hand of Major Wright

Major J. Eardley Wright receiving DSO in Ottawa

Major Wright shaking hands with General MacNaughton at the presentation of his Distinguished Service Order in Ottawa, likely 1946. Major Wright would have been offered the opportunity to have the DSO presented by His Majesty King George VI if he had remained in England after the war had ended. Major Wright decided that returning home was his priority. Major Wright is wearing his 48th Highlanders’ uniform.
