Jim Allan, Eardley Wright and Tom Slater of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders – likely late summer 1944 in France. Major Wright had returned to England in late 1943 as part of Operation Pouch, in which battle experienced officers and Senior NCOs were sent from Italy to provide their experience to units preparing for the landings in Normandy on D-Day.  Major Wright would join the North Nova Scotia Highlanders.
