LCol Armour A. Miller – DCRA Medal

Silver sports medal held in a small square red wooden box on a purple felt inside bottom of box with inside of lid having white fabric and golden embroidery of maker’s name and location reading: “P. W. Ellis & Co Limited   Medalists   Toronto, Canada”. The front face of the medal has a dotted pattern border running in two circles all around the edge, the centre features two soldiers in full dress on left and right half of the medal facing each other and shaking hands, with both soldiers holding a musket and the right soldiers musket has a bayonet attached, behind the soldiers is the shield of the Dominion of Canada with a crown on top of the shield, and below the soldier’s feet is a scroll with the words “Vis Unita Fortior” (meaning Strength United is Stronger). The back side of the medal also has the same dotted pattern border running in two circles around the edge and in the centre has the text: “PRESENTED   BY THE   DOMINION OF CANADA   RIFLE ASSOCIATION   1868”.
