Outgoing loans

The purpose of a loan is to enhance the mission of the museum.  This applies equally to incoming loans as to outgoing loans.  The collection management committee has the sole authority to recommend that the museum lend or borrow objects.  This shall not be done without a properly executed loan form. For the loan of extremely rare and valuable artifacts in the collection the Museum Manager or Curator will gain the direction, approval or denial, of the 48th Highlanders Trusts before proceeding.

Permanent loans or loans for a term greater than five years will not be granted or accepted.

Both incoming and outgoing loans must be assured the same standard of care as the exhibit collection of the 48th Highlanders Museum.

The database must be updated appropriately for outgoing loans.

Objects from the museum’s collection transferred permanently to other elements of the 48th Highlanders will be treated as being de-accessioned except that the registration records will show its transfer.
