Museum site options

Museum staff can manage some aspects of the web site. The “Museum Site Options” page is found under the “Dashboard” menu and is only accessible by Administrators and Editors.

Holiday closing

This section controls the appearance of a popup that is presented to visitors (not logged in) when they first visit the site. The popup announces that the museum will be closed from (date) and will reopen on (date.)
If “Holiday popup is activated” is checked, users will see the Holiday popup. The minimum number of closed days is 1 so you can use this if the museum will be closed on a statutory  holiday that falls on a Wednesday or Thursday and the museum will be closed on that day.
If the check box is NOT checked, the holiday popup will not appear and the dates below are not validated by the system.
Once you check the “Holiday popup is activated” checkbox, three dates will appear. ALL of these dates must be valid dates before you can save this options page. Each date is effective at 12 am on that date.

First date popup will appear

This date can be no earlier than today. The popup will start appearing on this date. Note that this date is NOT the first date the museum will be closed.

First date museum will be closed

This is the first regularly scheduled opening date on which the museum will be closed and is the “from” date that appears on the popup. It can be no earlier than the above date.

First date that museum will be open

This is the first regularly scheduled opening date on which the museum will be open and it is the “to” date that appears on the popup. This date must be at least one day later than the above date.
