The front has a number of different stamps, with most being German military stamp: an ink stamp by the camp’s German Military Postal Examination Office, a German military post date stamp of: “15 OKT 1915”, and a London post office with date of: “OCT 27 15”. There is also a mahogany ink stamp on the front that reads: “Kriegsgefangenensendung Geprüft – F.a.” (meaning prisoner of war mail checked).
