Portrait of Signing of Surrender

Montgomery and staff Signing Surrender – 1945

A framed 34.5 inch (87.63 cm) by 28.75 inch (73.03 cm) reproduction of painting of the German Delegation signing the instrument of Surrender with the Allied officers at the close of the Second World War. The signing took place in the mess tent of 21 Army Group HQ at Luneburg Heath on May 4, 1945 at 1830 hours.  Two barrack room tables were covered with army blankets.

Standing left to right:

Major Keating,  Mr. Wilmot, Lt.  Col Trumbull Warren (48th Highlanders),  Col. Murphy,  Col. Ewart, and an unknown Lt, Col.
