Five members are in the back row standing up on a step. Nine members are in the front row standing on the ground. The group are members of the 48th Highlanders Indoor Baseball Team, who were champions in 1921, 1922, and 1923. The championship trophy is on the floor centrally in front of the group flanked by two crossed baseball bats and one baseball in front of the trophy. The trophy is urn shaped with one large handle on each side. The trophy has a possible silver shine. Group photo was taken in front of large wooden doors with a large stone arch around the doors, at University Avenue Armouries. Bottom left corner of frame is marked with “Alexandra Studios Toronto.” Alexandra Studios was started in 1910 by Lou and Nat Turofsky. In 1917, they had a large studio at 322 Queen Street West. The company gained a reputation for photographing sports and were often granted exclusive access to sports events. The Alexandra Studios were the only photographers allowed into the gates at the start of the British Empire Games, which were held in Hamilton in 1930.
