Sepia photograph of group of five posing 48th Highlanders in full dress, with CSM North standing second from the right, with a Lewis gun on the floor in front of them resting on its bipod. The group is standing at the base of the stairs of the Toronto Registry of Deeds and Land Rights building, which was demolished in 1964. CSM North and another Highlander are wearing their WW1 war medals, and the photo is likely taken in the 1930s. Photograph is in a black wood frame. There are two eye bolts on the back of the frame on the left and right side with a striped pattern string running lengthwise and tied to each socket.
Note: Visible in the background on the right side of the photo is a shop sign written with Chinese characters. The area used to be St. John’s Ward, and was an immigrant neighbourhood within Toronto’s first Chinatown.
