Tescione of the 48th Highlanders, serving with C Company 1 RCR, watches from his armoured personnel carrier, the M113 armed with 50 cal. machine gun. As the unit was on the Serbian side most of the work was patrolling the two kilometre-wide Zone to ensure that there were no incursions and no armed parties. The RCR took over in the Krajina area of Yugoslavia, at locations previously held by the Kenyans. Members of Canada’s Reserves volunteered for UN and NATO missions in which Canada participates to fill gaps in the rolls of the Regular forces.
