Commanding Officer 48th Highlanders of Canada (Home Battalion) 1915-1919 Commanding Officer 48th Highlanders of Canada 1919-1923 William Charles Warren Darling joined the 48th Highlanders as a private on 31 March 1897. He was the first of four generations of the Darling family to wear the Davidson tartan.

Certificate accompanying War Service Badge

Certificate issued to Capt. A C H Andrews of the 15th Battalion that accompanied the War Service Badge. The badge was worn on civilian clothes to identify the wearer as serving or having served in the First World War. The certificate had to be carried when the badge was worn as method of verification.
