Brass shell casing was placed on the grave of Lt. Col. Donald Mackenzie who was killed in action at Wilp on 12 April 1945. Brass plaque presented in May 1970 by Dutch Canadians of Toronto to recognize and commemorate the friendship between the Dutch and the 48th Highlanders for their participation with other Canadians in the Liberation of The Netherlands in 1944/45. The lion crest of Holland is at the top centre.
