Pte RIDDLE, Alexander John

800018 Private Alexander John Riddle a 31 year old teamster originally from Elgin, Scotland when he attested into the 134th Battalion on February 4, 1916 in Toronto. In November 1916 he was transferred to the 15th Battalion just after the battalion left The Somme and was in support trenches near Cabaret Rouge. He took part in The Calonne Raid in January 1917 and Vimy in April. Private Riddle and Captain Laycock were killed in action on June 11, 1917 and both are buried in Nine Elms Cemetery.
