Pte PECK, Jack

Private Jack Peck was a 34 year old labourer from Sherbrooke, QC when he attested into 12th Battalion at Valcartier in September 1914. He was sent as a reinforcement to the 15th Battalion on May 3, 1915 following the battle of 2nd Ypres and posted to No. 2 Company. Private Peck served at Festubert in May and all the 1915-1916 trench tours in France and Belgium before being attach posted to the 3rd Canadian Tunneling Company in April 1916. He was serving with the Tunneling Company when he was wounded in action on December 27th and died the same day at No.1 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station.
