Pte MINGO, William James A.

193533 Pte Mingo, W. J. A. attested with the 92nd Battalion (48th Highlanders) on 14 January 1916 and was assigned to Company 2. Prior to the war he had served for 4 years in the Royal Engineers.  Once in England he taken on strength of the 15th Battalion, 48th Highlanders on 06 September 1916. He was wounded 09 October 1916 at The Somme near Courcelette and rejoined the battalion on 24 October 1916. Pte Mingo was wounded again, gun shot wound to the left lower leg, on 02 March 1917. He was transferred to hospital, then England and Canada and was discharged 06 February 1919.
