Pte MCGREGOR, Henry

192565 Private Henry McGregor was a 27 year old booking clerk originally from Aberdeenshire, Scotland when he attested into the 92nd Battalion (48th Highlanders) on August 31, 1915 in Toronto. He was sent in a reinforcement draft to the 15th Battalion in August 1916 and assigned to No. 1 Company. On June 5th 1917 the 15th Battalion relieved the 24th Battalion in the front line north of Arleux in the Vimy sector. It was a relatively quiet tour but there was active night patrolling into No-Man’s-Land. There are no details in his service file but Private McGregor was killed in action on June 8th and buried at Nine Elms Cemetery.
