On 29 Dec 43 in area 2914 during a Coy attack this man’s platoon came under heavy shell fire severely wounding the platoon commander and all the sedition. leaders.  Still under heavy fire Pte JOBES proceeded to carry Cpl NETTLETON to a place of safety during which the Cpl died.  Pte JOBES then went forward to the platoon position and brought back another badly wounded  NCO, Sgt CURRY and succeeded in taking him to a place of safety.  Pte JOBES was killed in action 31 Dec 43.
