B72859 Pte Edmiston, John Headridge was a drummer with the 1st Battalion Pipes and Drums in WWII. He enlisted in Toronto a embarked with the 1st Battalion from Halifax on 18 December 1939 on the SS Reina del Pacifico. He gave his religion as Church of England. Members of the band provided aid to wounded soldiers on the battlefield and were assigned to specific companies when not together as a band.
