Private REDDON, GARFIELD

B97604 Pte Garfield Reddon enlisted on 21 Oct 1940 with the Canadian Provost Corp, Company No. 12. He transferred to the 48th Highlanders for overseas duty on 5 April 1942 and once in England joined the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders of 7 May 1942. Reddon had served in WWI with the 160th Battalion from 1915 to 1919, service number 651002 and rose to the rank of CQMS (Company QuarterMaster Sergeant). He was released in Canada in 1919. In England he was hospitalized and died of lung cancer at the age of 47.
