Corporal MACDONALD, Charles Henry Lawrence

Charles Henry Lawrence Macdonald enlisted with the 15th Battalion at Valcartier, Quebec on 22 September 1914. He was wounded at the battle of Langemarck on 23 June 1915 suffering a gun shot wound to the thigh, chlorine gas poisoning and 2 fractured ribs on the right side. He was taken prisoner and made a POW at Oberhausen in Germany. After 3 1/2 years in several different camps he was exchanged to Switzerland on 23 Nov 1917. He was returned to Canada on 14 October 1918 and discharged on 04 March 1919 following medical treatment.
