Private FLAXMAN, REUBEN

27065 Pte Reuben Flaxman, born in Bromley, Kent, England,  attested at Valcartier, Quebec on 22 September 1914, was assigned to the 15th Battalion (48th Highlanders) and departed for England with the 1st Canadian Expediationary Force. He was reported missing in action and presumed killed between 24 and 19 April 1915 at the battle of 2nd Ypres, the first chlorine gas attack of the war. His body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Menin Gate.
