Pte Charles Davies 3 May 1915 - Boulogne Eastern Cemetery

Private DAVIES, CHARLES SAXBY

27604 Private Charles D. Davies was a 23 year old carpenter from Oshawa, Ontario with pre-war Militia service in the 34th Regiment when he attested into the 15th Battalion at Valcartier in September 1914.

He was serving in No. 2 Company in April 1915 when he suffered a gunshot wound in the leg during the fighting in St Julien. Private Davies was evacuated to No. 13 General Hospital in Boulogne where he died of his wounds on May 3rd and was buried in Boulogne Eastern Military Cemetery. Private Davies is also commemorated on the war memorial in Oshawa.
