Lt Jeffery Filder Smith

Killed in Action with 13th Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada)  June 1917

Lieutenant Jeffery Filder Smith was a graduate of Upper Canada College and Trinity College, University of Toronto who went overseas with the 92nd Battalion (48th Highlanders).  He was later transferred to 73rd Battalion.  While serving with the 73rd during the battle for Vimy Ridge he was wounded.   On 21-Apr-17 he was transferred to the 13th Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada).  On 30-Jun-17 he was reported “Missing and thought to be wounded”.  On 2-Oct-17 it was confirmed through the German authorities to the Red Cross that he had been killed.
