L/Cpl WATSON, Kenneth Eakin

Kenneth Eakin Watson attested on 31 Aug 1915 with the 92nd Battalion 48th Highlanders. Once in England he was transferred to the 15th Battalion, 48th Highlanders on 16 March 1916. Watson had been a cadet at Harbord Collegiate in Toronto for 3 years and became a Sergeant in the 92nd Battalion. His medical records show he had a tattoo of the 48th Highlanders badge. He reverted to Private to join the 15th Battalion. He was wounded three times in battle – on 29 April 1916 he suffered a slight wound and returned to duty; on 3 June 1916 we was wounded by shrapnel to the chest, shoulder, hips and legs and was sent to hospital. After 8 months he returned to the 15th Battalion. On 8 August 1918 he was wounded again in the right arm by a bullet which fractured the bone. Following hospital he was transferred back to Canada and was discharged.
