Honorary Lieutenant Colonel 48th Highlanders 2014-2017

HCol Mike Scott joined the 48th Highlanders in 1979 and served until 1986.  During that time he also served with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada and the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment.  A passionate and life-long member of the Scouts Canada for over fifty years he served as the Chief Commissioner of Scouts Canada and as International and Canadian Representative for the organizing of the the 24th World Scout Jamboree was held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia in 2019.  He was recognized for his service to Scouting through admission to the Order of Canada.  He is also an avid builder of model trains.

As Honorary Lieutenant Colonel he was the Chair of the 125th Anniversary Celebrations an initiated a number of innovative projects including a Regimental special edition Whisky. As Honorary Colonel he championed the 2017 Regimental Portrait marking Her Majesty’s 80th anniversary as Col-in-Chief of the 48th Highlanders.

Michael Scott, an astute businessman gifted with leadership and vision, is also a dedicated volunteer. As former president and chief executive officer of PBB Global Logistics, he helped to expand the strategic growth of the company’s customs brokerage services as well as promote Canadian business opportunities in China. For more than three decades, he has provided dedicated support and leadership to the Scouting movement, where he served as chief commissioner and chairman of Scouts Canada’s board of governors.
