Edgeler, Archibald William John

Archibald William John Edgeler joined the 48th Highlanders in Toronto on 15 May 1904 at age 32 and was assigned to B Company. He became Lance Corporal on 17 March 1908 and was discharged on 26 March 1909.

His service records for the First World War, showed he attested on 25 September 1914 with the 11th Battalion. He gave his date of birth as 22 Jan 1874 at Haslemere, Surrey.  He declared prior service as: 12 years RHA in the UK, and in Canada 9 years 91st Highlanders (Argyll and Sutherland) and 2 years with the 48th Highlanders. (our records show almost 5 years).

For the war, he joined the 8th Battery CRA, was given the service number 42250 and was in France 1915 to 1917. He was discharged 3 September 1918.
