Pte Blow William Francis

Pte Blow enlisted at the beginning of the war  on 14 September 1939 arriving at the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders in England in October 1941. He was wounded on 3 November 1943 by a bomb which struck the kitchen of a house he was in.

NOK: Mrs. Vera Blowe, wife – 41 Dunn Avenue, Toronto.

Also, Mr. and Mrs. William Blowe, 397 Shaw Street, Toronto. Pte Blow had two children, Billy 4 and a daughter Joan 2 who was born after Pte Blow left for overseas.

Wounded in Italy, Nov 1943. Survived the war and returned home, passed away in 2009. Brother John Murray Blow (vs “Blowe”) also a member of the regiment, taken prisoner in Italy.
