Swagger sticks

Bundle of four swagger sticks, belonging to Colour Sgt Tom Banton. All are made of wood with a metal cap, bundled together with a white string, the first is: dark brown and larger than the others at 0.75 inch wide with a grey metal cap of 1.25 inch in length that is rounded and flairs out at the top, the second is: black and is 0.5 inch wide with a grey metal cap of 0.75 inch in length that is a rounded ball at the top and a metal tip at the bottom with a flat base, the third is: light brown and is 0.5 inch wide with a silver metal cap of 1.5 inch in length that is cylindrical and with bronze crossed rifles and a metal tip at the bottom that is dented, the fourth is: light brown and is 0.5 inch wide with a silver metal cap of 1.5 inch in length that is cylindrical and with bronze crossed rifles and a metal tip at the bottom.

 

Crossed rifles believed to signify he was a Sergeant Instructor of Musketry. Crossed rifles, as worn by musketry instructors or Marksmen
