Sepia studio portrait of Cpl. F. G. Ford in 48th Highlanders dress uniform, oval shaped, and in a black cardboard frame with a centre oval border with decorative patterns and a crown at the top. On the back is a newspaper clipping of the obituary of “CORPL. F. G. FORD”, which is as follows: “Corpl. F. G. Ford, 25 Herbert ave., is to-day reported to have been killed in action. He was attached to the 48th Highlanders three years before the outbreak of war. In April, 1916, he was wounded in the left arm and knee. Corpl. Ford was formerly employed as a postal clerk at Station A in the Union Depot. He was an enthusiastic Rugby player. Corpl. Ford was thirty years of age and a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church.”
