Sergeant Major William Hawkins Shot at the Bisley competition in 1913 and 1914 before the competition was suspended during the years of the First World War. In the 1913 competition he won the most coveted award for marksmanship in the world, The King’s Prize. A shooting position that he introduced in the competition was so effective that it was named after him.
