Pte F.R. Bailey studying sign Campobasso in October 1943 to decide what he wants to do. There were 25925 Canadians in Italy. Everything required by Canadians was provided in Campobasso to keep the them content while awaiting another turn at the front, is given on this sign.  How to get here, a smaller edition of London’s Beaver Club, two theaters, an Officers Club and a club for all ranks.  Pte F.R. Bailey of Toronto’s 48th is here deciding where he want to go and what he wants to do. So many Canadians passed through Campobasso and have rested there between at the front line. Town is now dubbed “Canada Town” or “The Maple Leaf City” P1411
