A superior quality kilt worn by LCol W.W.G. Darling. Officers purchased their own kilt of a high quality material. Standard kilt were issued to the troops as part of their issue uniforms.

48th Highlander Sweetheart Locket

A 3.5 mm by 2.5 mm oval gold locket made of gold with a silver 48th Highlander badge logo in the centre, approximately World War II era. Highlanders often had items (pins, lockets, rings, etc.) to leave with their spouses when they went overseas. The items are called “sweetheart”.
