The Bayonet Trophy presented by a senior officer of Central Militia Area in 1969 to Lt John J Kerr of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. In 1969 the regiment also won the Kitching Trophy for the best infantry platoon in CMA and the Sir Kasimir Gzowski Trophy for the best infantry unit in Canada. The regiment would win the Gzowski five consecutive years, 1966 through 1970.
