Maintenance Repairs of a Bren Gun carrier-Sicily 1943

Canadian forces which participated in the Sicilian campaign had a short three week respite for rest in late August 1943 before next phase of the Allied campaign–invasion of Italy-commenced. Here Pte. W.R. McCallum (left) of Toronto, and Pte. W.D. MacDonald of Gravenhurst, both of the 48th Highlanders of Canada, make repairs to a mortar carrier(universal carrier).  P1142
