Your Honour,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. In your role as Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, it is with great pleasure that I am sending you an article regarding the recent memorial ceremony held in honour of the soldiers of your Regiment who lost their lives in the Battle of York in 1813.
On the 23rd of April 2023, members of the 48th Highlanders of Canada Regimental Association gathered to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers. The ceremony was a reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought for their country, and it was heartening to see that their memory is still cherished after all these years.
We believe that the article captures the essence of the ceremony and its significance. We hope that it will serve as a fitting tribute to the soldiers of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment who gave their lives for their country.
Yours sincerely,
John MacIntyre, HCol 48th Highlanders of Canada
