Laurel Leaves forming a circle with a plaque on the middle bottom of the wreath inscribed with “Presented by the 48th Highlanders Chapter IODE & attached to the Colours on their return from Germany May 1919”. The metal wreath was attached to the top of each of the Colour Standards (King’s Colour and Regimental Colour) for the parade and ceremony in Toronto marking the return of the 15th Battalion (48th Highlanders). The Home Battalion, at the request of the Commanding Officer of the 15th Battalion, had sent the Colours to the 15th Battalion following the end of the First World War and in time for the 15th Battalion to carry the Regimental Colours into Germany.
