CSM George Herbert Cresswell – Memorial Plaque

Memorial Plaque on the left: large circular disk with figure of Britannia, lion and dolphins; Has manufacturer’s stamp on the reverse, W; Lot number between the lion’s rear leg and tail, 15. George Herbert Cresswell on front of disk. The plaque was sent to the widow, mother or designated next of kin when a soldier was killed in action. The plaque would be accompanied by a Silver Cross and a letter of Condolence from the King.

On the right are CSM Cresswell’s three medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Inter-Allied Victory Medal.
