Small, grey, steel Case M346, with sheepfoot-blade knife, marlin spike, and can opener. Held together by rivets and has a metal loop on one end for hanging and carrying. Stamped on bottom of one side of the knife is maker’s name reading: “M.S. Ltd XX”, for Metal Stamping Ltd.
This model of clasp-knife is originally by US company Case And Sons Cutlery Co., made during WW2, and used both by the US and Canadian military as a standard issue knife and rigging tool throughout the war. Post-WW2, the Canadian subsidiary of Case & Sons continued production of the knife until 1949 for the Canadian military in a factory in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The knife was carried by Canadians in the Korean War.
