- 8th British Army, As part of the fighting in Sicily and Italy the 48th were attached to the famous 8th Army “the Desert Rats”
- 21st Army Group, As part of the transfer to North Western Europe of the 1st Division from Italy, the 48th came under the 21st Army Group.
- Canadian Army Pacific Force Patch, worn by members of the 2nd Battalion who volunteered to fight in Asia. The Force was disbanded following the dropping of the American Atomic Bomb.
- 30th British Corps, As part of the Invasion of Sicily in July 1943 the 1st Division was attached to 30th Corps.
- 1st Canadian Army, after being transferred to North Western Europe in March 1945 the 1st 7: 1st Canadian Army, after being transferred to North Western Europe in March 1945 the 1st Division came under the 1st Canadian Army for the Liberation of Holland came under the 1st Canadian Army for the Liberation of Holland
