Animal bone from WWI with signatures

Animal bone, part of hip of mule or horse. Inscribed names, in black ink, of members of the 134th Battalion of the 48th Highlanders who were at Witley Camp, Surrey England. Names are signatures or printed, some with Company designation and/or rank. In the top corner against a gold paint background is “Subscribe to Canadian +” where plus is red, standing for the Red Cross. The bone is shellacked.
