The 92nd Battalion, raised in 1915 as a Reinforcement Battalion, was one of three battalions of the 48th Highlanders. The 15th Battalion – 48th Highlanders, raised in 1914 went overseas with the 1st Canadian Expeditionary Force and the 134th Battalion, raised in 1916 was intended to be another fighting battalion for a proposed 5th Canadian Division.
