77456 Gordon Wilson Newlands. Originally 30th Battalion – sent as reinforcement to 15th Bn – served in No. 2 Coy. Wounded at Observatory ridge June, 3, 1916 SOS 15th Bn June 15, 1916. Was an A/Sgt in the 30th but reverted to the rank of Pte when he went to the 15th Bn. On discharge from hospital, he went to the 1st Canadian Corps Depot and from there to the 16th Reserve Bn and from there to the 1st Reserve Bn where he was promoted ASgt. in 1918. After being wounded he never returned to the Front. 1939-1945 War Medal indicates he served in the Second War.
