You are invited to join The 48th Highlanders of Canada48th Highlanders of Canada

The Regiment parades in the University Avenue Armouries each Friday at 8:00 p.m.

The Recruiting Office in Room 132 is open Tuesday and Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m., and anytime between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

The daily rates of pay are –

Privates $2.90-$3.27

Corporals $3.73

Sergeants $4.30

Members of the 48th Highlanders are

  • in one of the finest Regiments in Canada.
  • – Provided free of charge, with all uniforms including the kilt and dress uniforms.
  • -Entitled to a half day’s pay for each parade.
  • – Encouraged to attend Summer Camp and receive full pay.
  • -Instructed in all infantry weapons – rifle, Bren, Sten, P.I.A.T., 2″ mortar.
  • Given specialist training in Signals, 3″ mortar, 6 pr. anti-tank, and track and wheeled driving.
  • – Proud of their outstanding Regimental Pipe and Brass Bands.
  • – Enabled to form many new friendships.
  • Encouraged to participate in organized sports.
  • – Provided with canteens, regular dances and parties, to which ladies are invited.
