48th recruiting drive in Chicago – 1917

Colour party passes street car on Recruiting Drive in Chicago. The 48th Highlanders were part of a drive in USA cities to encourage Americans to join the Canadian Expeditionary Force for overseas as the US had yet to participate formally in the war in Europe. A similar event was held in New York also in 1917.
