– Ticket for a fund raiser for the Officer’s Mess. One hundred numbered tickets were issued for the draw. Tickets were drawn with prizes given in reverse order with the last ticket drawn receiving the grand prize. Other prizes were for the 1st, 15th, 25th, 48th, 50th, 75th and 92nd numbers (15, 48, 92 were battalion numbers). The draw was held in the Officers’ Mess in full dress or black tie. As the Officers paid from their own pockets the costs of the mess and its furnishings the fund raiser was used for maintenance and new purchase as required.
