48th Church Parade Piedmonte d’Alife – Italy 1944

unit formed up in hollow square, Piedmonte d’Alife, Italy  P0564 The battalion was at rest at Piedmonte in June and July following their successful breaching of the Hitler Line at Pontecorvo at the head of the Liri Valley. They would move on the 26th of July to a location near Florence before crossing Italy in August to the Adriatic side of Italy to begin the advance through the Gothic Line defences.
