1951 Trooping the Colour – 26 May 1951

The King’s Colour marched on parade for Trooping of the Colour, 26 May 1951. THe Colours are paraded past every member of the Regiment, ensuring their recognition of their Colour. This practice is historic, to the period in which the Colours were carried on the active battlefield in the centre front of the troops as they advanced. The 48th Highlanders held a ceremonial parade to celebrate their Diamond Jubilee, attended by Canada’s Governor General and Viscountess Alexander. P1500
